Using Wrk Receipts
What is Wrk Receipts?
Wrk Receipts is a documentation and support tool that helps you record workplace experiences, track patterns over time, and stay organized as you navigate your job. It’s designed to help you understand what’s happening at work and feel more supported, not to replace legal or HR professionals.
What is a “receipt”?
A receipt is a personal record of a workplace experience. It can include what happened, when it happened, who was involved, and any related documents or notes you want to save. Receipts help you keep information in one place and build consistent documentation over time.
Is Wrk Receipts free?
Yes. Wrk Receipts offers a free version that allows you to manually create receipts, log workplace experiences, and book support sessions.
Who can use Wrk Receipts?
Wrk Receipts is for anyone navigating work, including employees, contractors, and people in career transitions. People use it to document challenges, track accomplishments, and stay organized throughout their employment journey.
Can Wrk Receipts help with positive experiences too?
Absolutely. Wrk Receipts isn’t only for problems. Many people use it to log accomplishments, feedback, milestones, and wins to support career growth and self-advocacy.
Do I have to upload documents?
No. Uploading documents is optional. You can create receipts using text only, and add files later if you choose.
Is my information private?
Yes. Wrk Receipts is built to help you securely store and organize your own records. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Does Wrk Receipts provide legal advice?
No. Wrk Receipts does not provide legal advice, legal opinions, or legal representation. The platform offers documentation tools, educational information, and support to help you stay organized and informed.
Can Wrk Receipts tell me if I have a case?
No. Wrk Receipts does not determine whether you have a legal claim. It helps you document experiences, notice patterns, and understand general workplace concepts so you can make informed decisions about what to do next.
How is Wrk Receipts different from HR or a lawyer?
Wrk Receipts is independent. It doesn’t represent your employer and it doesn’t provide legal advice. It’s a personal tool designed to help you document, learn, and feel supported as you navigate work.
Before you book
What is a Discovery Call?
A Discovery Call is a 30-minute, one-on-one phone consultation with an independent HR Consultant. It’s a space to talk through what’s happening at work, get clarity on internal HR processes, and better understand your options, without pressure or legal risk.
How do I book an appointment?
You can schedule a Discovery Call or purchase additional support on our booking page. You can also book in the Wrk Receipts app.
What do I need to prepare for my Discovery Call?
Just complete the Intake Form when booking. You don’t need documents upfront, but if you have any, you can upload them through the Wrk Receipts app or our secure upload page at cagedbirdhr.com/docs.
What’s the difference between a Discovery Call and Extended Support?
The Discovery Call gives you clarity. Extended Support gives you strategy, like:
- Reviewing your documentation
- Drafting emails or meeting scripts
- Planning exits or severance negotiations
- HR meeting prep and emotional support
Why do I have to fill out a form?
To make the best use of your time, please fill out the form. It helps your consultant get familiar with your situation before the call.
What kinds of concerns do you help with?
We help with common workplace concerns like harassment, discrimination, hostile work environments, bullying, isolation, compensation requests, exit planning, severance, microaggressions, complaint writing, participating in an HR investigation, retaliation, and more.
Can I discuss a past incident with an employer?
Yes. As long as you still have access to relevant documentation or evidence, we can help you frame what happened and understand whether there’s still a path to accountability or closure.
Eligibility & access
Do I need to be in a certain state to receive support?
We support U.S.-based employees and U.S. employees working abroad on U.S. payroll. We do not currently support international employees outside the U.S. labor system.
Do I have to work in a certain industry to get support?
No. We work across all industries, including tech, government, education, nonprofit, healthcare, retail, and more.
Do you support contractors?
No. Caged Bird HR currently only supports W-2 employees. Contractors and 1099 workers are not eligible for consulting services due to legal and structural differences in employment rights. Contractors can still use Wrk Receipts to document their work.
During & after the Discovery Call
How is the call conducted?
Calls are by phone, not Zoom. Your HR Consultant will call you at the scheduled time.
Will I receive advice or strategy during the Discovery Call?
No formal strategy is shared during the Discovery Call. However, we answer your questions, explain HR processes, and help you understand why something may or may not be happening.
What do I get out of a Discovery Call?
You’ll leave with:
- Clarity on your situation
- Insight into HR systems and internal dynamics
- Language to better describe or document what’s happening
- A sense of validation and next steps, without the pressure of full commitment
Why are the consultations recorded?
Some calls may be recorded internally for training and quality control. These are never shared externally and are stored securely.
What happens after the Discovery Call?
You’ll get a text and email with recommended next steps and support options if applicable. We’ll also invite you to leave feedback.
Cost & payments
How much does a Discovery Call cost?
- Regular Discovery Call: $125 (scheduled within 48 hours)
- Priority Discovery Call: $175 (scheduled within 24 hours)
When do I pay for a Discovery Call or Support Package?
Payment is collected at the time of booking via our secure system. Support Packages begin on the purchase date, unless your Consultant helps you schedule a later start.
Can I switch packages or add more support later?
Yes. You can purchase a new package at any time. Returning clients receive a 20% off coupon for seamless continuation of care. If it has been more than 30 days since your last Discovery Call, we recommend booking another one before purchasing a support package.
Are Discovery Calls or Support Packages refundable?
No. All calls and packages are non-refundable. Rescheduling is allowed with at least 24 hours’ notice.
Documents & account access
How do I send you my documentation?
Use the Wrk Receipts app to upload documents, photos, voice notes, and timeline entries. You can create an account for free at wrkreceipts.com.
I can’t access the support library. Can you resend my credentials?
Yes. Reply to your confirmation email or reach out to us directly.
Free & low-cost resources
I can’t afford a Discovery Call. What resources are available to me?
We believe support should be accessible. Here are free ways to get help:
- Our Support Library (free and always growing)
- Monthly webinars on topics like documentation, navigating HR, and understanding your rights
- Free sessions offered through our nonprofit partners to members of their communities
Know a nonprofit we should work with? Send us a partnership recommendation.
Philosophy & policy
Is this confidential?
Yes. Everything you share is treated with discretion. We never share client information without permission.
Is this a sales call?
No. The Discovery Call is a clarity session, not a pitch. We’ll walk you through your options only if support makes sense for your situation.
How is this different from advice from friends or social media?
Friends and internet advice can’t replace trained, independent HR guidance. We understand power, process, and documentation in ways that help you protect yourself, not just vent.
Do you offer legal advice?
No. Caged Bird HR does not provide legal advice or representation. Our services are rooted in HR best practices and employee advocacy, not legal counsel. If you need legal advice, we recommend consulting a licensed employment attorney, such as through Wrk Legal.
Do you attend meetings with HR with me?
This service is available only to clients actively enrolled in a three-month Extended Support Package, and only if your employer allows you to have a representative present. During these meetings, we will not speak on your behalf, but we will:
- Ask for breaks to consult with you
- Thoroughly prepare you for the types of questions that may arise
- Help you document and reflect on what was said afterward
If this is something you believe you’ll need, your Consultant can walk you through what that support looks like and whether it’s a good fit during your Discovery Call.
Can you provide me with mental health support?
While many of our Consultants have experienced workplace trauma themselves and can empathize deeply, Caged Bird HR is not a mental health service. You may find emotional relief in simply being heard and validated, but we are not licensed therapists.
We strongly encourage all clients to seek support from a licensed mental health professional alongside our services if you are experiencing ongoing distress, anxiety, or trauma symptoms.
About Wrk Legal
What is Wrk Legal?
Wrk Legal is an employment law firm helping workers understand and address workplace legal issues. Depending on your location and circumstances, your matter may be handled by Wrk Legal or coordinated with independent local counsel or another law firm.
What types of workplace issues can I contact Wrk Legal about?
You can contact us about workplace matters such as termination, retaliation, discrimination, harassment, accommodations, medical leave, wage and compensation concerns, severance agreements, performance-related actions, and other employment-related legal concerns.
What is the relationship between Wrk Legal and Worklution?
Wrk Legal is a separate legal entity that shares common ownership with Worklution and certain affiliated brands. Wrk Legal’s attorneys exercise independent professional judgment regarding legal matters and representation.
Is Caged Bird HR part of Wrk Legal?
No. Caged Bird HR provides nonlegal workplace and HR support. Wrk Legal provides legal services through licensed attorneys. Although the businesses share common ownership, engaging Caged Bird HR does not mean you are represented by Wrk Legal.
Can I work with Caged Bird HR and an attorney at the same time?
Yes. In some situations, clients may continue receiving nonlegal workplace support from Caged Bird HR while separately receiving legal services from an attorney. Each provider stays within its respective role.
Choosing your state
How do I know which attorney to book with?
Start by selecting the state where you primarily performed the work for the job or workplace issue you need help with. We will use that information to direct you to the appropriate legal intake process.
I work remotely. Which state should I select?
If you primarily worked remotely from your home, select the state where you physically performed that work, even if your employer is headquartered somewhere else.
What if I live in one state and work in another?
Select the state where you primarily performed your work. During intake, we may also ask where you live, where your employer is located, and whether you were assigned to a worksite in another state. Those facts may be relevant to determining which laws apply.
Does selecting a state mean that state’s law definitely applies to me?
No. State selection helps us with initial routing. An attorney will determine which laws or jurisdictions may apply based on the facts of your situation.
Local counsel & partner attorneys
Will Wrk Legal always be the law firm that handles my matter?
No. Wrk Legal may work with independent law firms, local counsel, or co-counsel where appropriate based on jurisdiction, subject matter, capacity, or other considerations. A receiving attorney or law firm will independently determine whether it can represent you.
What happens if my matter needs local counsel?
You may be asked to authorize us to provide appropriate information to a lawyer or law firm that may be better suited for your matter or jurisdiction. That attorney will conduct their own conflict review and independently determine whether to represent you. A referral does not automatically create an attorney-client relationship.
Do I have to use the attorney you connect me with?
No. You are always free to choose your own attorney. You are not required to retain Wrk Legal, local counsel, co-counsel, or any independent law firm we may introduce to you.
Are the partner attorneys part of Wrk Legal?
Not necessarily. Some attorneys or law firms we work with are independent legal practices. Others may participate as local counsel or co-counsel. Each attorney remains responsible for their own professional obligations and for determining whether they can represent you.
Consultations & representation
Does booking a consultation mean Wrk Legal represents me?
No. Using this website, submitting a form, uploading information, completing an intake, or scheduling or attending an appointment does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship.
Representation begins only after the appropriate law firm completes any required conflict and intake review, agrees to represent you, and completes its engagement process with you.
What is a conflict check?
Before a law firm can proceed with certain matters, it may need information about you, your employer, related organizations, or other involved parties to determine whether a professional conflict prevents the firm from assisting you. A conflict check does not mean the firm has accepted your matter.
What happens after my consultation?
The attorney will determine the appropriate next step. Depending on the circumstances, that could include offering representation, offering limited-scope services, requesting additional information, connecting you with another attorney, or determining that the firm is unable to assist.
What if Wrk Legal cannot represent me?
Depending on the reason and your location, we may be able to connect you with independent local counsel or another attorney. You may also seek an attorney independently, including through your state or local bar association.
What if I have an upcoming deadline?
Tell the legal team about any known deadline as soon as possible. However, do not assume that submitting a form, booking an appointment, or completing a consultation means an attorney has accepted responsibility for that deadline.
Until an attorney expressly confirms representation and the scope of that representation, you remain responsible for protecting your rights and deadlines.
Can you guarantee that an attorney will take my case?
No. Every law firm independently determines whether it can accept a matter based on factors such as conflicts, jurisdiction, the circumstances presented, capacity, and other professional considerations.
Does Wrk Legal guarantee a particular result?
No. No outcome can be guaranteed. Every workplace and legal matter depends on its individual facts, applicable law, available evidence, and other circumstances.
Confidentiality & privilege
Is everything I tell Caged Bird HR protected by attorney-client privilege?
No. Caged Bird HR is not a law firm, and communications with a Caged Bird HR consultant are not automatically protected by attorney-client privilege because Caged Bird HR and Wrk Legal share common ownership.
Is everything I submit through the Wrk Legal website attorney-client privileged?
You should not assume that submitting a website form, scheduling an appointment, or sending information through the website creates an attorney-client relationship or that every communication is privileged. The applicable law firm will explain confidentiality and privilege as appropriate during the legal intake and engagement process.
Legal Services Disclaimer
Wrk Legal is a separate legal entity that shares common ownership with Worklution and certain affiliated brands. Where appropriate, we may work with independent law firms, local counsel, or co-counsel.
Using this website, submitting a form, or booking or attending a consultation does not create an attorney-client relationship. Representation begins only after a law firm agrees to represent you and completes its engagement process.
No outcome is guaranteed. Past results do not guarantee future results. You remain responsible for any deadlines unless an attorney expressly confirms representation and responsibility for your matter.
